Nile Basin Drought Early Warning System

The Nile Basin Drought Early Warning System (Nile DEWS) developed, in 2025 at ENTRO, to monitor & forecast meteorological drought, hydrological drought, and agricultural drought in the Nile basin over 84 sub-basins and also at various grid scales to help mitigate the drought impact across the Nile basin.

Nile Basin Flash Flood Early Warning System

The Nile Basin Flash Flood Early Warning System (NB-FFEWS) is a near real time forecast system developed by NELSAP-CU with support from World Bank- CIWA. The purpose of the system is to contribute towards enhancing preparedness and resilience of communities in the Nile Basin countries to flash flood disasters.

Nile Basin Water Quality Database

The NBI water quality database was launched in 2023. Its purpose is to centralise data from water quality monitoring campaigns acquired by the member countries of the Nile Basin Initiative, as well as data from continuous monitoring of water quality throughout the basin.
