𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑻𝒐𝑻) 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 𝒐𝒏 𝑬𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑵𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒇𝒕𝒖, 𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒂.

The TOT workshop is taking place from May 06 to May10, 2025 in Bishoftu, Ethiopia, with the primary goal of enhancing water resources management practices in the Eastern Nile countries by focusing on key modeling areas and providing Training of Trainees (ToT) in the field of Eastern Nile Water Resources Planning and Management. Other specific objectives are to enhance competency, improve decision-making skills, and promote collaboration among participants.
A total of 47 participants from EN Countries (Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Sudan),
NELSAP-CU, and Nile SEC are taking part in the workshop.
The participants are experts in various fields including hydrology, water resources engineering, IT and information management, water resources modeling, and GIS & RS. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will contribute to a comprehensive and enriching learning experience during the workshop.
The ToT workshop is expected to yield the following key outcomes:
1. Participants acquired practical skills in utilizing the specified models and tools.
2. Better-informed decisions in water resource planning and management achieved through the application of these models an tools.
3. A network of professionals equipped to collaboratively address challenges in water resource management.
