Volume 3.2 (Analysis of Network Expansion in Ethiopia) of the Report of Module 6 (Coordinated Investment Planning) of Phase I of the Eastern Nile Power Trade Program Study, implemented by ENTRO from 2006 – 2008. It analyses the network expansion plans for Ethiopia for 2015 -2016, and the behaviour of the planned Ethiopian power system for the 2015-16 in steady state, with the 220 kV interconnection between with Ethiopia and Sudan, planned for 2009, but without the interconnection between Egypt and Sudan. Several load flow calculations were performed in normal and in contingency situations for the annual peak, and this analysis identified possible weak points of the future transmission system.
