Volume I (Commercial Aspects of the Electricity Market) of the Report on Module 7 (Power Trade Strategy) of Phase I of the Eastern Nile Power Trade Program Study, implemented by ENTRO from 2006 – 2008. It identifies trends and obstacles expected in the formation of a regional electricity market, examines pricing and tariff issues, and provides an overview of the contractual framework requirements and commercial contracts that could be implemented. It also presents a list of conclusions and recommendations designed to address critical problems in developing commercial aspects of the regional power market, gradually broaden electricity trade and strengthen commercial aspects of the electricity market.
