Abstract
Volume 1 of the Report of the Regional Power Interconnection Feasibility Study, which is Phase II of the Eastern Nile Power Trade Program, incorporating several documents:
• M1: 2015 Power Study: On the anticipated interconnection between Ethiopia and Sudan for the peak load scenario in 2015
• M1: 2020 Power Study: On the 3-country interconnected system (in permanent state for the peak and intermediate load situation in 2020/2021.
• M1: 2025 Power Study: On the simulated operation of the interconnected system for the period of the annual peak load demand in 2025
• M1: 2030 Power Study: On the 3-country interconnected system for the peak load situation in 2030
• M1: 2030 Target Network: On the proposed expansion plan for the 2030 networks for Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan, with demand scenarios, generation expansion plans, generation/demand balance, hydro-power connection schemes, and transmission expansion plans.
• M1: DC Link Optimization: An optimization study for the DC transmission line between Kosti in Sudan and Nag Hammadi in Egypt, involving selection of the DC voltage and cross-section of conductors of the DC interconnection, and based on an economic comparison between different solutions for DC voltages, HVDC stations, and overhead line conductors.
