Lirima Gravity Fed Irrigation Development and Watershed Management Project

This project, located in Lirima Village, Manafwa District, Eastern Uganda was identified under the Sio-Malaba-Malakisi River Basin Project. Project located at coordinate 34.42⁰ E, 0.867⁰ N at an elevation of 125 m a.s.lconstruction of 16 km of pipeline for gravity conveyance of water; and development of an irrigation command area of 1,137 ha benefiting 5,154 people. Other components of the project are provision of drinking water supply, provision of water for livestock watering, construction and stocking of fish ponds and watershed management.
