Mugango Multipurpose Storage Reservoir Development Project

This Project is located in Mugango Village, on Nyangores River, one of the perennial tributaries of the Mara River.,Musoma District, northern Tanzania and was identified and prepared under the Mara River Basin Project. Project interventions include development of 1,000 ha of irrigation land, and hydropower development (1.2 MW).

This project will offer efficient integrated water resources management. AndIn addition, the project will create permanent jobs, the use of the labor intensive work in implementing the development works .The catchment management will address the quality and quantity of water in water shed. Many farmers that would encroach on the wetlands and river banks will be accommodated in the expanded irrigable land. Measures will be taken to prevent or reduce erosion
