Bisarwi Smallholder Irrigation Scheme

This Project, located in Bisarwi Village, Tarime District, Northern Tanzania, was identified and prepared under the Mara River Basin Project. Project interventions include construction of 50,000 m³ capacity storage earth dam and development of irrigation area of 500 ha. Bisarwi dam project is located in Bisarwi village, Manga ward, Inano division, Tarime district of Mara region in Tanzania. Tarime district is geographically located at latitude 1⁰00' - 2⁰30' South and longitude 43⁰30' -35⁰30' East while Bisarwi is on the S-E of Tarime Township at latitude 1⁰26' -1⁰26' South and longitude 34⁰15' - 34⁰16' East. The project area is easily accessible via a short route from Tarime branching at Gamasara village through Mtana village (22 km), or 37 km from Tarime through Komaswa - Nyamongo gravel road.
