This NBI annual corporate report 2020 is for the period July 2019 to June 2020. It is important to note that implementation of planned activities during most of the last half of the financial year was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The report covers key events carried out during the year as well as progress and key results achieved against the organisation’s six goals namely: water security, energy security, food security, environmental sustainability, climate change adaptation as well as strengthening transboundary water governance. This is in addition to cross-cutting functions and corporate support services. The report also provides an overview of the revenue, expenses and sources of funding. It is worth noting that during the period under review, there was an increase in the number of stakeholders who rate NBI’s services as satisfactory or higher from 79 percent last financial year, to 93 percent. This Annual Corporate Report 2019 provides an overview of Nile Basin Initiative (NBI)’s roles and responsibilities, institutional set-up and the organisational structure. The report also provides a financial report. During the reporting period, the Nile Basin Initiative turned 20 years of existence on February 22, 2019.
